How to Plan Your Closet Design March 20, 2011

Are you sick and tired of seeing your closet in constant disarray? I am and I finally found a solution for it. I always dreamed of the ultimate walk-in closet with double doors that open to a neat showcase of my clothes and jewelry. Alas! I live in a little two bedroom apartment and for that dream to come true I will have to give up my entire bedroom just to see it happen. So I have to get real and be contented by the available space in my closet. I’ve created in my mind the kind of design for my closet that will accommodate all my things.

In planning your closet design you have to maximize the use of the space that you have and that means looking into your closet from floor to ceiling. You also have to take into consideration how you would want your clothes and stuff to be organized. You can install an overhead shelf on top of your clothes rod where you can place things you are not using at the moment like last season’s clothes. If you don’t like your clothes to have too many creases from folding, you can install a double rack that is if your closet space is over 9 feet high.
